Research Topic: What Is The Role of Political Analysis in Nationalism Versus Globalization of Operations Performed By An Organisation?
In order to conduct research, I have worked on the concepts of globalisation and nationalism to distinguish their role in the operational performance of an organisation. Globalization, nationalism as well as the relations among both of these concepts are important to reveal among scholars especially within the international relations discipline (Witt, 2019). These two concepts have an important position in the real and contemporary world, where the importance lies within the creation of nation-states and modern societies, including their role in organisations in which interdependence has increased. The main reason behind choosing this topic is to understand how these two fundamental concepts are yet opposed to each other, but still used for operating the business performance.
As a matter of fact, it has been revealed that nationalism has had less importance and a great deal of difficulty for the survival of organizations because it has raised the state of trade war among nations. However, it has also been stated that nationalism also proves beneficial from globalization and also becoming equally important (Ariely, 2019). Thus, to explore the relationship of nationalism and globalization, to address their impact on each other, I have conducted research. This is based on how these concepts come in terms of interaction with each other, including the key aspects of their interaction. Conducting research on globalisation and nationalism, also essential to economically understand what are the main benefits people can gain by these two concepts (Pieterse, 2019). Therefore, to define the concept of both wide topics with their role in operating the organisation at a global level, comparative research has been taken. By investigating on relationship between resistance as well as confrontation, it has been evaluated that nationalism is expected to lose out or eventually leave the centre stage for other alternatives (supranational) which is required by globalization (Witt, 2019). While on another hand, nationalism along with the expectation to persist, also aids in increasing and intensifying opposition and response to the forces of globalization (Ariely, 2019). So, for designing comparative research on two these two concepts I have chosen the two case studies of different nations. It includes the two biggest nations that are UK and the US, where studying on impact of Brexit, political interventions on the operational performance of organisations have been evaluated (Chevalier and Buckles, 2019). While for the US, how the interconnectedness of organisations has not threatened the sovereignty of this country has been explored. Therefore, it has been identified through studying both cases that globalisation has reshaped the growing international interconnectedness due to the tug of trade war. Through the article of Rosenboim, (2019), it has been evaluated that nationalism has helped the existing organisations to reduce the negative impact of globalisation by abolishing the national borders and undermining democracy (Globalism and Nationalism, 2019). For this purpose, restrictions on trade between national and international organisations have been implemented by the US president. In the context of the UK, through the article given by Ghemawat and Altman (2019), Brexit is one of the main examples of nationalism that changes the political environment of this country completely. It has affected the organisational performance of companies in both negative and positive manner (The State of Globalization in 2019, and What It Means for Strategists, 2019). So, in both cases, disputes between countries and their largest trade partners have been discussed which has helped me to reveal the role of nationalism and globalisation in organisational performance (Doran, 2019). Along with this, the dependent variable in the cases of both countries is nationalism which is independent from globalisation but affects the concept of each other in a wide manner. In the case of the first article, the major focus is given to understanding the benefits and limitations that companies in the UK are facing due to globalisation. While article based on the US has revealed how political interventions or nationalism has vastly reduced the threat of sovereignty (Pieterse, 2019). These two concepts show that however both articles are designed to study globalisation and based on the concept of nationalism, but still structured in different way.
In this regard, after gathering the entire information under the literature review, I have made a critique of the research paper to distinguish what has been done and what was the research gap (Pieterse, 2019). Hereby, in the literature review, an argument is made on how globalisation has diminished the importance of nationalism, including the way political parties of countries made efforts to reduce the same parameters (Doran, 2019). This was the most highlighted issue in the discussion part of research but the gap has arisen when no information about how positive effects of both nationalism and globalisation can be made is not revealed.

Comparative analysis has enabled me to make an appropriate analysis of two wide concepts of the real world – Globalisation and Nationalism. It has helped in answering the all questions which are related to how and why a system has reacted to perturbations of different (Chevalier and Buckles, 2019). This research paper has shown how perspectives of different researchers as per their articles can be used for comparative analysis, by summarizing a sound proof for research design, demonstration of incompleteness, description of a working implementation, as well as presentation of experimental results. Thus, the main advantage part of using comparative analysis in a research is maintaining the strong emphasis on naturalism only, by summarising the case studies of other researchers. However internal validity, time consumption and less reliability are also considered as the weak points of this method (Pieterse, 2019). The comparative analysis includes mainly qualitative research that raises questions about the validity and reliability of results as well. Along with this, the description of explanatory variables is also high, where control of extraneous variables is mostly dependent on different stages of research. Descriptive research also has provided an in-depth view of a chosen topic that I want to study, where the level of detail that I have found is extremely valuable. It is particularly true of comparative analysis that all data is collected qualitatively, which helps in creating new research questions and researchers can form hypotheses about cause including effect relationships also (Witt, 2019). However, this method fails to describe the causes behind the relationship of variables and doesn’t provide valid results either.
It has been concluded from the entire description that the essay made on concepts of globalisation and nationalism has revealed various aspects. Using the comparative analysis has helped in making a proper argument about benefits and limitations as well as the relationship of both concepts on a nation. This method has helped in conducting an in-depth analysis of the chosen topic and making arguments on different researcher's points of view.
