The idea of Guinness World Records came into existence in 1951, when Sir Hugh Beaver, who was the managing director of Guinness Breweries, went on a hunting trip and failed a few shots. He then got involved in a debate over the fastest game bird and could not get the correct answer. At that moment, he realized that there might be many times when people have similar arguments, but there are no books to provide any authentic proof. So, the idea of Guinness World Records developed, and the first book came out in 1955 where many human, animal, and natural records were listed. The book became successful and is now published annually in over 100 countries in 23 languages. In fact, the book itself is recorded as the best-selling copyrighted book. 1. Largest collection of stuffed crocodile

Andrew Gray who calls himself a ‘crocoholic' has the collection of about 6,739 stuffed crocodiles. It includes the reptile made of plastic, china, metal, wood, glass, etc.

2. Most piercing on body

Elaine Davidson, a former restaurant owner, holds the record for being the most pierced woman. She first received a skin piercing in 1997, and since then she has constantly been adding them to all over her body. In 2006, as per the records, she had over 4,225 piercing with almost 200 only on her face. She enhances them with jewelry and paintings. That's quite a painful record!

3. Longest metal coil passed through the nose and out of the mouth

This is a crazy one. Andrew Stanton who was a side performer in Las Vegas holds this record. In 2012, on a show named, ‘Lo Show Dei Record' he achieved it with the metal coil measuring 11 feet, 10.91 inches (3 meters).

4. Most big Macs eaten in a lifetime

Donald Gorske, a US resident, is recorded for eating his 28,788th big mac on 24th August 2016. He eats them almost on a daily basis and buys them in bulk. In the past 40 years, there have been only eight days when he hasn't eaten them and consumes about 14 Big macs weekly.

5. Longest eyelashes

You Jianxia from Shanghai has the longest natural eyelashes on her upper lid which measures 12.40 cm. She has replaced Gillian Criminisi of Canada for this title whose eyelashes measured 8.07cm. According to You, "They are a part of my body, so I never find them inconvenient."

6. First implanted antenna

Neil Harbisson who is currently based in New York implanted the antenna at the back of his skull in 2004. This antenna allows him to hear color and it reports information to him through audio vibrations. It can also be connected to the internet which allows him to hear phone calls, music, video, and more. Well, nobody is replacing him for this record anytime soon.

7. Most apples held in own mouth and cut by chainsaw in one minute

This is scary, and contestants for this record must be very courageous. Chayne Hultgren from Australia held this record where he cut 21 apples in one minute while holding apples in his mouth in April 2017. He has previously tried many stunt based records.

8. Stretchiest skin

Due to a rare medical disorder called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Garry turner can stretch the skin of his stomach to a length of 15.8cm. In this condition, connective tissues affect ligaments and internal organs which further involves loosening of skin. According to Garry, stretching doesn't hurt him, but the syndrome can cause pain in joints.
