Fashion Mistakes Every Student Must Avoid

fashion mistakes every student must avoid

As a college student, one of the most important priorities is to look good and presentable. For this, you might shop for hours and days to have an excellent collection in wardrobe. But still, there are times when many of you end up making fashion blunders, and that might be really awkward sometimes. You may object that it's not clothes that matter but your performance and inner beauty, we do agree with this, but you also have to admit that your looks define your personality and make first impression on the people you meet.

Trends are changing every day, every week, every month, and we are all trying to keep up our pace with it. In the process, we often make mistakes which we regret later which is quite common among many teens and college-goers.

We are providing you a list of frequently made fashion mistakes that you can avoid in your daily life.

Take a look:

1. Inappropriate size

When you don't find your size in a store, you buy smaller or bigger size just because you really like the outfit. Honestly, you are just wasting your money. If you buy close-fitting clothes, then you might have to struggle to fit in, and it would actually look very odd. On the other hand, if you are buying clothes bigger than your actual size, then they may look baggy. There are some loose tees or sweatshirts which may look cool, but that is not the case with every outfit.

2. Too much bling and shine

Bling is in, we agree. A bit of glitter on loafers or bellies is all right. But too much of glitter is not done at all. Wearing a shiny top and heels with too much of bling in college or even in parties do not look good. So make it more elegant, just wear something simple like studs or sober bracelet with your bling tops or footwear.

3. Shoes that are too tight

While buying shoes or heels, try them properly, to check the apt size. There are times when you buy footwear just because they look good, and later on you get irritated because of shoe bite. You can't even walk and balance yourself. If you are more comfortable in flats, then wear them and step out confidently.

4. Everything is color coordinated

Yeah, it looks great if you wear complementary colors, but that does not mean that you have to be color coordinated from head to toe. Wearing same color shoes, carrying the same bag, is not appreciable. Prefer contrast colors or experiment with colors that look pleasing.

5. Not dressing your age

You are a college-goer and not a school going little girl/boy or an adult grown up ready to leave for office. When you select your outfit, make sure it matches your age. Prefer more of sober colors and casual dress and definitely avoid brightest colors of all with immature cartoon figures printed on it. Your dressing should be effortless and suit your personality.

6. Follow any trend blindly

Yes, we mentioned fashion is evolving, and you need to keep pace with it, but that does not mean you should follow every trend without considering whether it suits you or not. Your friends or celebrities might look good in a certain dress but don't wear it because you have to follow a line. Your clothes should be according to your comfort and body type and not what others like. Be yourself and don't spend all your money on something you might wear just two to three times, make your own style statement instead.

7. Over-accessorize

Danglers, shiny belt, scarf, a neck piece, wearing all at a time looks very odd. Keep your look subtle, and wear what is required. Just a simple bracelet sometimes looks best than carrying a complete accessory shop.

So next time you go shopping, hope these points will help you and your wardrobe will be more about yourself then what others like and follow. Adopt latest trends, but be comfortable and never run a rat race.
