Introduction

This unit will explain the role and functions of HR and their developments. It will give an understanding of the aims and objectives of HRM department for the successful development of the organisation.

PART 1 – Value and Contribution of Organisational Success

Scenario

You are working in a well-known large global organisation on the role of Junior HR Manager of your own choice. You have to asked to determine an ability to review the contribution of a HR function to the value and success of an organisation due the responsibilities enrolled upon the position of Junior HR Manager.

Prepare a report for the Director of Human Resources in order to cover the following:

• Evaluation of the Importance of Organisational Design

You are required to analyse the importance of organizational design theory in relation to structure of the organisation and to fulfil the strategies of organisation with relevant examples. Use appropriate theories and concepts to briefly analyse the importance of organisational design with relevant examples.

• Analysis of the need to develop motivated, knowledgeable and experienced individuals and teams

Evaluate the different techniques and approaches that are used for maintaining, developing, attracting and rewarding human resources to create a dedicated and skilled workforce. Briefly evaluate different techniques and approaches to motivation, knowledge management and human capital with examples. Give appropriate suggestions in accordance to the synthesis of knowledge and information and how to improve the execution of sustainable performance.

• Apply contemporary knowledge and research to support emerging HR developments

Conduct a research and use contemporary knowledge in accordance to the emergence of HR developments. Analyse how emerging HR developments will impact the role of function of HR in the future.

Provide valid conclusions and judgements, in accordance to your research and evaluation with synthesis of knowledge and research information.

PART 2 – Managing Change

Scenario

You are asked to present a poster presentation on the role of Junior HR Manager in a large well-known global organisation and HR will manage the organisational design to adapt to the changes taking place in the environment.

The poster presentation will cover the following:

• How organisational design will respond and adapt to the change management and determine the relationship that existed between the two with specific organisational situation.
• Analyse the different types of changes that impact the organisational design with transformational and psychological change.
• Briefly analyse the complex relationship between organisational design and change management.
