Introduction to theme
Equality is relevant in all workplaces, irrespective of whether they work remotely, in an office, a warehouse or on a shop floor whether the business employs two or two hundred people. It mainly ensures that everybody is given equal opportunities irrespective of any discrimination. There is an achievement of positive value by taking diversity into account on differences between people and groups of people. The different backgrounds, knowledge, skills, and experiences, and uses with diversified culture helps in creating a productive and effective workforce.
Managing both equality and diversity is very important as it influences almost all the employees that are working in an organisation. The cases of business have proven that biases and discrimination in the workplace can affect the growth and productivity of business and therefore, in order to improve productivity, opportunity, and competitiveness, there are various businesses that look beyond any legal considerations and policies to promote equality and diversity in an effective manner.
You have to consider that you have been recently been appointed as a Junior Human Resource Manager of a UK based global company of your choice that is facing major issues in cultural diversity. Produce a research proposal and a report to be presented to the Board of Directors of your organisation. Examine the impact of the managing cultural diversity on a specific organisational performance.
Recognise a specific problem or issue that is related to the theme (âManaging cultural diversity in the workplaceâ) with a research proposal highlighting the issues as a problem statement - identify the research objectives that are necessary to address your research question. It should include a relevant literature review of your research project.
What you must do
Part 1:
Analyse the development of a methodical, ethical, reliable and valid research proposal as the foundation for the project.
The personal interest should be reflected in project topic with availability of an adequate background materials.
The framework of proposal should address research question, objectives or hypothesis as specific research problem or question.
A good project proposal and project title should include an existing body of literature or source material that can be reviewed with addition of the current line of learning, lending itself to further rigorous exploration.
Part 2:
Conduct your research as outlined in your proposal with track of your findings as you progress.
The research process and research methodology, should be an understanding of the pitfalls and limitations of the methods with encountering of ethical issues
Analyse your findings, conduct your research, and Draw conclusions. Analyse the data collected from primary research sources through research methods.
Analyse on the success of your research project with your performance at the end of the project with evaluation and recommendations. What alternative research methodologies would you use in future to improve the results?
